A Kansas-based study says that people do not follow the speed limit while driving on gravel roads and they follow their own judgement. The research was conducted by the Kansas State University. The law states that people should follow a speed limit of 55mph while driving on gravel roads but people drive by their own perceptions. The study is said to be important for the county engineers who gets complaints from the residents about lowering the speed limits. The research was conducted based on various factors like the type of gravel roads, their width, the number of crashes on it and also the amount of heavy vehicles and its volume.
